Our care givers
Our Care Givers are carefully selected for their skills, experience and compassion One of the most important characteristic of our service is the qualification of Caregivers who are empathetic, understanding and able to provide a highly professional service. Everyone who applies to become a Courage Healthcare Carer is thoroughly screened and scrutinised to guarantee their suitability for the role.
If applicants show that they have the character, qualities and potential to become a Courage Healthcare Carer they must then undergo methodical in-depth pre-employment checks; these include condition of extensive references (which are carefully checked) plus criminal background screening and they receive thorough training before being placed.
To find just the right Caregiver for individual family needs is fundamental; so we take time to get to know our clients and their families – then we select the Caregiver who matches those needs precisely. The at home client will be personally introduced to their selected Caregiver before our service commences.
Thereafter, we conduct regular quality assurance home visits to ensure that Caregivers are providing the service that has been agreed, and to ensure that clients and their families are fully satisfied with every aspect of that service. We also give each at-home client a journal so that they and their Caregiver can keep a daily diary of activities. This provides further assurance to families that their loved ones are being looked after with diligence, attention to detail and absolute dedication.
In our experience, around three out of four of our Caregivers have prior experience in caring for an older family member, whilst half have cared for older friends, and around a third have cared for both older relatives and friends.
